Graduate English Teaching Assistant

An exciting position as an English Teaching Assistant has arisen at a school in Stockport.

Requirements for this position:

• A degree (preferably in English or a related subject)
• Future aspirations in working within the education sector.
• Prior experience working with children is desirable.

This position will begin in September 2020, and presents itself as the ideal opportunity to those who are considering enrolling onto a PGCE, but want to gain school baseed experience first.

The role will involve:

• Working with children on a 1:1 basis, helping pupils within the subject of English.
• Managing student workloads, and ensuring those requiring additional help within the subject are suitably catered for. 
• Working with children who may have SEN, and being able to simplify work to enable these students to develop.
• Providing feedback on work, as well as working with full time teaching staff to develop adequate resources for pupils.

It is essential that the applicant:

• Holds knowledge related to the delivery of national curriculum in English as subject.
• Is able to display a pro-active and confident demeanour, both within lessons and around the school site.
• Can successfully manage behaviour, ensuring students are adhering to school policy at all times. 

The school:

• Located in Stockport, close to Manchester city centre.
• The M60 motorway is in close proximity to the school.
