Graduate Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools in Basingstoke (Start: September 2025)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Graduate Cover Supervisors to work in a number of secondary schools across Basingstoke from September 2025. With increasing demand for flexible, high-quality cover staff, this is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to step into the classroom and gain hands-on experience.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences
  • Ensure students remain on task and support positive behaviour management
  • Adapt to different subjects and classrooms depending on school needs
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress and behaviour
  • Develop essential classroom leadership and behaviour management skills

You don’t need teaching qualifications – just a positive attitude, the ability to engage and motivate young people, and a genuine interest in education.

Requirements:

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification
  • Confidence to manage a classroom independently
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • UK residency is essential – this role is only open to those currently living in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
