Due to a restructure within the Humanities department our client secondary school in Oldham is currently seeking a teacher of Geography to join their faculty on a full time basis from April 2018. This position will initially be for a term with the opportunity to continue for the right Geography teacher.

  • Full time Geography teacher position, starting in April
  • Get paid to scale (£22,917- £38,633 per annum)

This is a larger than average mixed 11-16 secondary school located in Oldham close to the A627 road and is easily accessible via the surrounding areas; Manchester City Centre, Rochdale and Tameside. With the schools excellent reputation within the diverse local community a large intake of students come from the surrounding areas with the majority of student s being from minority ethnic backgrounds most of whom are of Pakistani or Bangladeshi heritage. Throughout the school it has been noted that student's behaviour is excellent with them taking pride in their school and the work they produce. The school currently meets the government's floor standards for teaching and learning.

The incoming Geography teacher will be joining a department who consistently strive to be outstanding across the board and plan and deliver outstanding lessons to push students to achieve above their target grades. The Geography teacher will be responsible for creating innovative and challenging lessons to with-hold the high standards set by the department. The department welcomes both newly qualified and experienced Geography teachers to apply for this position.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
