We wish to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time Teacher of Geography following the 2021 February half term. (A start following the 2021 Easter break would also be possible for a suitable candidate)
The successful candidate will have a high-quality degree in a Geography-related subject and must be capable of teaching Geography up to GCSE level. A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school is expected. Your role will be to teach excellent lessons, driving knowledge with passion and enthusiasm, promoting a love of learning, and committing yourself to the vision of the school.

Our school is a successful 11-16 provision, situated in an easily accessible, central, Burnley location. We have close motorway links (m65) and excellent public transportation links. Our buildings have state of the art facilities including access to excellent IT equipment and a variety of learning resources. The position has become available due to the promotion of one of our existing members of the Humanities department.

The successful candidate will:
• Have a passion for Geography which is evident in their day-to-day teaching.
• Be well versed in the current changes in the maths GCSE specification and the implications of these on classroom teaching.
• Show evidence of being, or having the clear potential to be, an outstanding Teacher of Maths.
• Contribute and show commitment to our innovative and forward thinking department.
• Contribute to intervention programmes and other after-school activities.
• Play a full and active role in the life of the school.
• Be a reflective practitioner with a focus on continuous learning and development of practice.
• Want to make a real difference to the lives of all young people

Both NQT’s and experienced Teachers will be considered. There is an excellent staff induction programme available alongside NQT training and an ongoing CPD timetable available to all staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
