Primary General Teaching Assistants (RCT)
Hours: Flexible working hours
Pay: £1,540pcm (Full-Time)
Start: June 5th – end of school year (opportunity for role to be extended)

On behalf of primary schools in the RCT area, Teaching Personnel are seeking positive and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistants to join their classrooms following the half-term break. You will be providing support and assistance to Foundation/KS1 teachers and their pupils, working predominantly with small groups of children, also offering 1:1 support when required.

In addition to competitive pay in-line with the national framework, you will receive expert advice and support from a dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant during the application and vetting process, as well as the duration of your time as a Teaching Assistant.

Full access to an online diary via the Teaching Personnel app means managing your weekly workload is clear and simple – whether you’re available to work 2 days or week or 5, you choose your availability for bookings by updating your diary.

A successful Teaching Assistant will:

  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils by offering support and encouragement during planned lessons and activities
  • Be supportive and ready to assist the teacher by following their instructions but using initiative when necessary
  • Be empathetic and understanding; able to recognise the individual needs of pupils, tailoring your approach to ensure that the child remains engaged and encouraged during the lesson

While previous experience of working with children is desirable, it is by no means essential.
We look for qualities of positivity, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to help children get the most out of their time in the classroom. You could have all the attributes to be a fantastic Teaching Assistant without even realising it!

The essential requirements of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • An Enhanced child-only DBS (we can help you with this)
  • Registration to the EWC (we can help you with this)
  • 2x professional references
  • The ability to drive and access to your own vehicle is not essential but preferred
