General Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Bedminster. This is a full-time, term-time role working within a Key Stage 1 classroom, supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences (starting in September).
While this is a general classroom support role, the successful candidate will also work with a number of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing targeted support to help them thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class support to the teacher and pupils during lessons and activities
-
Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils, including those with additional needs
-
Help to prepare learning materials and set up classroom resources
-
Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
-
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all pupils
-
Assist with supervision during break and lunch times as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting
-
A patient, caring, and flexible approach
-
A passion for supporting children's learning and development
-
Some understanding or experience of supporting children with SEN (preferred but not essential)
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
A willingness to learn and adapt as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
