The School:

This ‘Outstanding’ school has an established reputation for a strong focus on academic excellence. Over the last five years it has been the highest-achieving non-denominational school in Brent.

They offer a graduate training scheme, which seeks to develop those who are keen on going into teaching and offer them all the essential skills needed for their future career.

It’s set in extensive grounds with new sports facilities, modern teaching areas and well exemplary behaviour. It has been graded ‘outstanding’ in its two most recent Ofsted inspections and advice to local schools on best practice.

The Role:

As an academic mentor, you will be responsible for raising attainment in Science. Working with small groups of students and 1-2-1 across age ranges and abilities, you will learn how to plan, prepare and deliver Science lessons. Whilst developing your knowledge and understanding of both KS3 and KS4 curriculums you also learn key strategies in behaviour management and lesson adaptation. The role is Monday – Friday, term time only and expected hours will be 8am – 4pm. The school will take outstanding candidates at any time of year, so please don’t hesitate to apply.

Requirements:

• 2:1 or 1st from Russell Group university

• Previous tuition experience

• A can do attitude

• A desire to go into teaching
