Job description

Are you passionate about education and looking for a rewarding role supporting students in the classroom?

We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic General Cover Supervisor to join a positive and supportive secondary school located in Endon, Staffordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain valuable classroom experience – ideal for aspiring teachers or those seeking a meaningful career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students across a range of subjects in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain focused and on task.
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment in the classroom.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour during cover lessons.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the school as needed, including invigilation and break-time duties.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • A flexible, proactive, and professional approach.
  • Previous experience working with young people (in any setting) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Full training will be provided, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant is available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
