Job Title: English and Maths SEN GCSE Outreach Tutor

Location:

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preparing for GCSE exams.
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess students' progress, identify areas for improvement, and create personalised learning plans.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and communicate progress effectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant teaching qualification or degree in Education.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English and Maths at GCSE level.

Education:

Minimum of a teaching qualification or degree in Education.

Experience:

Prior experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and teaching English and Maths at GCSE level.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and differentiation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEN support or inclusive education.
  • Experience in delivering outreach or home tutoring services.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours with flexibility in scheduling.
  • Work primarily in a one-on-one or small group setting with students.
  • Travel to students' homes or designated outreach locations (local libraries)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
