Teaching Assistant – Gateshead – September Start
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive school in Gateshead from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils across the classroom on a full-time basis
- Working closely with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and interventions
- Providing both 1:1 and small group support where required
- Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ childcare experience
- Previous experience supporting SEND pupils is essential
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
