Job Title: English and Maths Functional Skills Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Deliver English and Maths functional skills sessions to learners in the Romford area.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching strategies to support learners' progress.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to learners to enhance their understanding and skills.
  • Assess learners' abilities and create tailored learning plans to address their individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the outreach programme.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed).
  • Have a strong background in delivering English and Maths functional skills training.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.

Education:

Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in English and Maths.

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in delivering functional skills training.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of the English and Maths functional skills curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
  • Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in learners homes
  • May require travel within the Romford area.
  • Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate learners' schedules.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
