Functional Skills Tutor
Job description
Functional Skills in English and Maths are crucial for learners of all ages, providing the essential skills needed for daily life, work, and further education. These qualifications enable students to confidently tackle real-world challenges, from managing finances to communicating effectively and solving problems.
We are currently seeking qualified tutors in Goole and surrounding areas to support learners with Functional Skills in both English and Maths. With growing demand from local councils, you'll have the opportunity to deliver tailored, one-on-one tuition to help students build their skills and achieve their goals.
Pay: £25–£30 per hour
Driving Licence: Desirable, as in-person sessions may be required at students’ homes or local libraries
What We’re Looking For:

Strong understanding of the Functional Skills English and Maths curriculum (Entry Level to Level 2)
-
Passion for supporting students and improving their literacy and numeracy skills

Experience working with learners of various ages, including those with SEND or SEMH
-
UK teaching or tutoring experience (preferred)

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply—support available)

Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge
-
Two professional references covering the last 24 months of work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
