Job Opportunity: Functional Skills Tutor – DE11 (Swadlincote)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills Tutor to support learners in the DE11 Swadlincote area.

Role Overview:
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will deliver engaging and tailored Maths and English sessions to learners working towards their Functional Skills qualifications. You will play a key role in helping students build confidence, improve essential skills, and achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Functional Skills (Maths and English) sessions
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learner needs
  • Track and monitor learner progress
  • Support learners in preparing for exams and assessments
  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and support learners of varying abilities
  • Teaching/tutoring qualification preferred (not essential depending on experience)
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Location: DE11 Swadlincote
  • ⏰ Start: ASAP
  • Hours: Part-time / flexible (Monday to Friday)
  • Contract: Temporary / ongoing opportunity

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
