Full-Time Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistant – Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), South Wales

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales
Salary: £89.38 per day
Contract: Full-time, ongoing and long-term opportunities available
Travel: Must be able to drive and have access to own vehicle

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Welsh Speaking Teaching Assistants to work across primary and secondary schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT).
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about supporting children’s learning and promoting the Welsh language within education.


The Role – Teaching Assistant (Welsh Medium)

As a Welsh Medium Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across KS3, KS4, and KS5 (roles also available in primary schools)

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

  • Encourage pupil engagement through the medium of Welsh

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and pupil assessments

  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment


What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Are fluent in Welsh (spoken and written)

  • Have experience working with children or young people (school-based or voluntary)

  • Are a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Are flexible, proactive, and willing to travel between schools in the RCT area

  • Hold (or are willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS and EWC registration

Essential Requirements

Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:

  • Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service)

  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
