Job Advert: Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Catholic Secondary School
Location: Lovely Catholic Secondary School, Vale of Glamorgan
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full Academic Year (with a view to permanent placement)
Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:15am – 15:00pm (term time only).
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting young learners? We are currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and nurturing Catholic secondary school community this September.
You will be working primarily with Year 7 and Year 8 students, providing vital classroom support, particularly for those with low ability levels and special educational needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people and who thrives in a supportive, faith-led educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and learning resources
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitoring student progress and offering tailored support
- Working collaboratively with the SENCO and wider pastoral team
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN and/or low ability is essential
- A minimum of Grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- A patient, caring, and empathetic nature
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning across the curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
