Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – KS3)

Location: Cardiff, CF5
Contract: Fixed-term – 26th January 2026 to 17th July 2026 (with potential for extension)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:15pm
Pay: £90 per day

Are you a compassionate, patient, and energetic individual who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed? We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 3 pupil within a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the Cardiff CF5 area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a pupil’s educational experience while being part of a supportive and collaborative school community.

The school aims to have successful candidates fully cleared and inducted before Christmas, allowing you to meet the team and start the new term with confidence. Trial days are planned for the weeks commencing 8th and 15th December, so availability during this time would be advantageous.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support, helping the pupil to:

  • Access learning in a way that meets their individual needs

  • Develop confidence, independence, and social skills

  • Engage positively in classroom activities

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with staff and peers

  • Follow personalised learning plans set by teachers and SEN professionals

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – support provided)

  • EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration (guidance available)

  • Two recent professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
