School: SEN Specialist School and 6th form centre (Ages 11-18)

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Qualified Teacher to join our team at a partner SEN school in Salford. This role is ideal for teachers seeking flexibility and the chance to work with secondary-aged pupils (11-18) who have complex learning difficulties, including Autism, physical disabilities, and other specialized needs. Our students work at levels below mainstream education, and class sizes are smaller to provide personalized attention and support.

  • Lead Engaging Lessons: Conduct thematic lessons and essential communication and life skills sessions.
  • Personalised Education: Create fun, activity-based lessons tailored to each student's needs, boosting their confidence and practical skills.
  • Vocational Training: Deliver vocational courses to equip students with essential life and employment skills.
  • Individual Focus: Work closely with students' Educational Healthcare Plans to drive their personalised learning paths.
  • Small Class Sizes: Design and implement engaging lessons for small classes of children with profound, multiple, and severe learning, health, and care needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status: NQT, Experienced QTS, or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) preferred.
  • Relevant Experience: Experience teaching, ideally with vulnerable children, is highly valued.
  • Holistic Approach: A therapeutic and holistic teaching approach is appreciated.
  • Clearances: Suitable references and a DBS certificate (or eligibility to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
