Teaching Personnel are recruiting for recent Psychology graduates to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a SEN Teaching Assistant, starting in September.

The highlights of this position include:

  • A salary between £385 and £450 per week.
  • Full-time and part-time positions are available so that you are able to balance other commitments such as further studies.
  • For the right candidates, there will be opportunities to progress onto other positions.
  • No additional planning and marking requirements.
  • 6.5 hour working day.

In order to be able to work within this school, you will need to complete a safeguarding course to prepare you to support young people. You should also obtain a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as providing two professional references that cover the last two years of your work history.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the pupils who have special educational needs, especially young people with autism. The school that you will be working with has a large proportion of pupils who require additional SEN support, many of these pupils also do not speak English as their first language. Communicating with these pupils may be more difficult and there may be difficult behaviour displayed. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the pupils are well supported both academically as well as emotionally.

The school that you will be working is in a very deprived area in Manchester. The school not performing as well as other schools in the are in regard to their GCSE results. It is highly important that the most vulnerable pupils are adequately supported within their learning development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
