Location: Newport
Working Hours: 8.30am- 3pm
Start Date: November 2026
Pay Rate: From £172.98 - £230 depending on experience.
Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to inspire and motivate students to lead active, healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons, foster a positive learning environment, and support students in developing essential physical and social skills.
The school is located in Newport, which has fantastic transport links from the M4, easily accessible from Bristol and the rest of South Wales.

Responsibilities:
- Have the ability to teach up to KS4.
- Plan, deliver, and assess dynamic PE lessons that cater to diverse student abilities and interests.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect through a variety of physical activities and sports.
- Design and implement a curriculum aligned with national and school standards.
- Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during physical activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success.
Roles
- Take PE lessons with both girls and boys.
- Take a lead on lunch time and after school activities including sport fixtures.
- Be a positive role model to the pupils encouraging Leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Bring a positive attitude towards fitness and show how having a healthy lifestyle can be enjoyable.
- Find ways to keep pupils engaged and keep lessons fun.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in sports department.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) including Update Service.
- Qualified teacher status.
- NQT’s will also be accepted.
- 2 most recent references.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
