EYFS Teaching Assistant – NN2 Area (Northampton)

Location: NN2, Northampton
Hours: Full-Time, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary to permanent opportunity

Do you have experience supporting young children in a nursery or school setting?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the NN2 area of Northampton is looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team as soon as possible. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a nurturing, play-based learning environment and enjoys supporting the developmental needs of young children.

The Role:

  • Supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and/or Reception)

  • Assisting with phonics, play-based learning, and early development activities

  • Helping to set up and tidy learning areas indoors and outdoors

  • Providing social and emotional support to children

  • Working closely with the class teacher and EYFS team

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children in an EYFS setting

  • A caring, proactive and enthusiastic approach

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development

  • Ability to work well as part of a team

  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant / Early Years qualification

  • Experience with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds

  • Paediatric First Aid (preferred but not essential)
