Early Years Assistant Needed in Woolwich

  • Nursery class in a primary school
  • Full-time position
  • September 2017 start

The opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated and inspirational Early Years Assistant to work at a primary school in Woolwich. Successful applicants must be dedicated to providing outstanding provision for the children in their care. As an Early Years Assistant you will be supporting the Early Years teacher in a Nursery class facilitating play sessions for children.

The successful candidate will have:

• a full and relevant qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in Early Years or above

• A compassionate and understanding personality, with a strong record of engaging positively with children, parents and staff.

• The ability to lead a play session inspiring parents to enhance their child’s development.

• Extensive knowledge of young children’s development and of the EYFS Framework and support children with additional needs through differentiation of delivery.

• Evidence of outstanding practice and of promoting high standards of learning.



Can you demonstrate that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills? Can you ensure the children in your care are happy, safe and in a stimulating environment? Can you develop strong, trusting bonds with families and other agencies within the setting and beyond – if yes, we would love to hear from you!



Do you understand EYFS legislation and can you implement relevant EYFS policies? Does the thought of ‘putting each child at the centre of your practice’ motivate you? If yes, we would love to hear from you!



Does the thought of being involved in planning, preparing and reviewing the curriculum in line with the EYFS excite you? Do you have the ability to self-reflect and actively and positively participate in the development of the setting, the wider service and your own performance? Does the thought of additional training to enhance your skills set excite you?
