Job description

We’re working with a lovely, close-knit primary school in Southport who are looking to welcome a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to their Reception class this September.

The school prides itself on its nurturing environment and strong community feel. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to play a key role in their early development.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering fun, engaging activities across the EYFS curriculum

  • Working with small groups and individual pupils to help them reach their potential

  • Encouraging social development and emotional wellbeing through positive interaction

  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment

  • Assisting with observations and contributing to learning journals

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have experience working in an EYFS setting (either in a school or nursery)

  • You hold a relevant qualification (ideally Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare)

  • You’re kind, reliable and patient, with a real passion for early years education

  • You’re confident working as part of a team and able to use your initiative when needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
