Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a passion for working with young children in an early years setting? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to work in a nurturing nursery environment in Plymouth.

About the Role:

This rewarding position will see you working closely with nursery-aged children, providing essential support to those with additional needs. The role is available for an immediate start, with the possibility of a long-term placement for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support nursery-aged children in their learning, development, and emotional well-being.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist the nursery staff in planning and implementing activities that promote early years development.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where all children feel supported and valued.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and SENCOs to develop and implement tailored learning strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in an Early Years or Nursery setting.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with young children.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate well with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
