EYFS Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about contributing to the start of children’s Primary School journey?
We are seeking a dedicated individual with a solid understanding of child development to make a positive impact on young learners.
- Hours: Full-time, 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Pay: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour
- Location: Central Newcastle
- Start Date: 6th January 2025
The successful candidate will work as a general teaching assistant with Reception pupils, offering support and guidance to help them thrive during this important stage of their education.
Your Responsibilities:
- Adopt a calm and nurturing approach to foster strong relationships with pupils.
- Support children during the transition period to help them feel prepared and confident.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support, such as phonics sessions and targeted interventions.
- Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
- Support all students, including those with additional needs, to promote inclusion and engagement.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming school culture.
- Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment for young learners.
Your Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Good understanding of the EYFS curriculum.
- Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a school setting.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
