EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant – Chorley
Temporary Contract with Scope for Permanent

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school with specialist provision in Chorley. This is a temporary role to begin with, offering strong potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

This role involves supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage with Special Educational Needs, working closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to EYFS pupils with SEN

  • Supporting children with communication, social, emotional, and developmental needs

  • Assisting with personal care where required

  • Implementing learning activities and behaviour support strategies under teacher guidance

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Contributing to a consistent, structured, and supportive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with EYFS-aged children, ideally within an SEN setting

  • Demonstrate a patient, caring, and proactive approach

  • Be confident supporting children with additional needs such as autism, speech and language difficulties, or developmental delay

  • Work well as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff and SEN professionals

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) relevant safeguarding and compliance checks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
