Experienced Youth Worker Required

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a East Manchester Primary Pupil Referral Unit who require a specialised KS2 Teaching Assistant on a full time basis to work within their KS2 setting. This role is to start at October and continue on until the end of the academic year. The role would require the Teaching Assistant to support whole class and occasionally as a 1:1 support.

This school cater for young people who have been excluded from their mainstream school. Pupils ideally will be in this setting for a short stay provision before reintegrating them back into mainstream education. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have a passion for implementing a restoritive approach to behaviour.

The ideal Teaching Assistant would have;

• previous experience teaching young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
• strong behaviour management skills
• have sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• have an up-to-date Team - Teach qualification

• The successful Teaching Assistant will also have a passion for promoting behavioural development in young people and must be able to act as a positive role model to the young people within this setting. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.

It is essential for the teaching assistant to have relevant verbal and physical de-escalation training such as team - teach. Teaching Personnel are able to provide relevant training if needed.
