Experienced Year 6 Teacher needed at Accrington Primary School

Due to an unforeseen change in staffing structure at a Primary School in Accrington, they are in need of an experienced Practitioner to join their 'Hard-working and dedicated' team. The role is to commence after the February Half Term and is temporary until the Summer Holidays, with the potential to become permanent. You are required to teach the Year 6 Class and prepare them for their SATS and deliver high quality lessons following the National Curriculum.

Due to this, the Head Teacher has stressed she want to employ someone who has had a vast experience preparing Pupils for their SATS. You MUST have a proven record of raising attainment at a previous employment. The position is also fantastic if you are looking to progress within your Teaching Career as the position is to also become part of the Senior Leadership Team, so a good understanding of an SLT role is necessary.

The Class is a larger number of 32, with a mixture of 'Below, At and Exceeding Age Related Expectations' and a small number of children with Special Educational Needs. The Head Teacher wants the Practitioner to have an excellent understanding of differentiation and the importance it has on a mixed ability class. You will also have the support of a Teaching Assistant who should be utilised to deliver in-depth and effective Maths and English interventions. Your planning must be efficient and well structured.

If you are successful, the Head Teacher would like you to come in to the School to have a short interview and also deliver a 30 minute lesson which is to be observed. The School has recently been graded 'Good' by Ofsted and the Head Teacher wants to keep up the high standards around School.

The School is a reputable School and is known for its 'Vibrant and welcoming' staff. The general behaviour of the School is 'Good' as stated by the Head Teacher, but said 'Like any School, we have our challenging days, but we work together and come through the other side better than before'.

The School is located outside of Accrington Town Centre and has easily accessible bus routes nearby if you do not drive, however, if you do drive, parking at the School is spacious. The position is Full time Monday to Friday, working 6.5 hours a day.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £100-£150 per day (varies depending on experience)
