Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity in a supportive primary school?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Kirkby area seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2027. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to continue for the remainder of the academic year.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and make progress both academically and socially.

The Role

You will be supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small intervention groups, working closely with class teachers and the school's SEND team to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

The role may involve supporting pupils with:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Behavioural and emotional challenges

You'll help create a positive learning environment, promote independence and encourage pupils to achieve their individual goals.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND within a school setting
• Experience delivering one-to-one and small group support
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Confidence managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning

A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
