Job description

Our Primary School is seeking an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant. This role is only suitable for you if you have spent a minimum of 6 months in the Early Years (Reception Class).

Are you passionate about early years education? Do you believe in the power of play-based learning to ignite curiosity and build strong foundations for lifelong learning? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Early Years team at our school.

About the Role:

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in creating a stimulating and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore. Your deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and commitment to child-led, play-based learning will be essential in helping every child reach their full potential.

Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: October 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based activities tailored to the EYFS curriculum.
  • Observe, record, and assess children’s development using the EYFS Framework.
  • Build warm, responsive relationships with children, supporting their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a rich and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, contributing to children’s learning journeys.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience working in an EYFS setting.
  • A solid understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Confident in conducting high-quality observations and using them to inform next steps.
  • A positive, nurturing approach with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or above desirable).
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children to thrive through play and discovery.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
