Teaching Personnel are urgently seeking an Exams Officer for a secondary school in Wigan. This role is to start immediately and is to cover a maternity leave.
The school are seeking an experienced Exams Officer (or an Exams Assistant) to step in at this important stage of the year. To be eligible for this role, you must have previous experience of organising the examinations in accordance with the school regulations. Proficient use of SIMS and IT skills are also essential.
The incoming Exams Officer will work as an integral member of our school's administration team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate well with students and staff.
Specific duties will include:
- Submitting entries for external examinations to awarding bodies in advance of deadlines.
- Answering enquiries regarding external examinations with staff, students and parents.
- Organising exam materials, providing safe custody of and organising examination stationery and materials.
- Organising the examination rooms and seating plans.
- Providing a timetable to include dates, times, venues and number of students.
- Arranging invigilation, including briefing and training invigilators in school procedures.
- Ensuring accurate maintenance and management of pupil and school data.
- Maintaining the SIMS database and producing of data reports.
The school is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre which offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas of Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester via the nearby motorways. There are also direct public transport links form Wigan town centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
