Exam Invigilators
Job description
Exam Invigilators for Durham Schools
£13–£15 per hour, Ad-hoc shifts, Starting Autumn Term
Teaching Personnel needs Exam Invigilators for secondary schools across Durham. If you're reliable, good with details, and available for flexible shifts during exam periods (mocks and GCSEs), this could work for you.
What the role involves:
You'll supervise exam halls - making sure students follow regulations, handing out papers, timing sessions, and keeping things fair and calm. Some roles also involve scribing or reading for students who need extra support, so experience with that is useful but not essential.
The work is ad-hoc, which means it picks up during mock season (autumn/winter) and exam season (spring/summer). You're not guaranteed hours every week, but when exams are on, there's plenty of work.
You'll need:
- Strong attention to detail (exam regulations are strict)
- Professional and punctual approach
- Calm presence
- Availability during school hours on weekdays
- Experience with scribing/reading support is a bonus
What you get:
- £13–£15 hourly depending on experience and responsibilities
- Paid weekly via PAYE (no deductions for agency fees)
- JCQ training and CPD courses
- Flexible work that fits around other commitments
- Referral bonuses if you know others who'd be good at this
Location: Durham
Start: Autumn/Spring Term
Hours: Ad-hoc (term-time only)
