English Tutors Required - Southampton and Surrounding areas
With the latest changes the government has imposed, Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit English Tutors to help support Secondary School learners with English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
With catch up programmes and the National Tuition Programme being implemented nationally, we are looking for tutors who can support the delivery of GCSE Level English for those learners.
We are working in partnership with a number of Southampton and Hampshire Secondary Schools to provide bespoke English tuition for Catch Up Learners.
English tuition may be required in a variety of packages including Online Tuition via our own learning platform, revision sessions for small bubble groups, small group work, 1:1 tuition on or off site. Applicants must be prepared to take on all options.
Suitable candidates will have the following:
- Capabilities to deliver GCSE English - this is a must.
- 6 months experience of teaching GCSE English within a school setting or tuition setting.
- Flexibility to work inside and outside of school hours
- The willingness to deliver to students with Special Needs
- To work in conjunction with department leads to deliver the neccessary curriculum content
- The ability to gage a learners abilities and personalise your tuition to improve their attainment
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 in Secondary
- A qualified Teacher status or a degree in English
You will be paid on an hourly basis and the role is flexible based upon the number of hours you are looking for.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
