English Tutor
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel work alongside virtual schools and SEN services to provide 1:1 tuition in and around the local Basingstoke area. Following the coronavirus pandemic, we have seen an increase in demand for tutors and anticipate this to rise again ahead of the January term. We are looking for tutors with experience in 1 or more core subjects to help facilitate catch up programs for pupils who have had their learning disrupted.
The majority of placements will be for pupils awaiting school placements and tuition will be provided outside of a school setting. These pupils have often missed chunks of education and will require specialist support to ensure they do not fall too far behind the curriculum.
Tuition requests can vary from 1 hour per day to full time requests and we have multiple students requiring support. This position therefore offers you flexibility to commit to either full time or part time availability.
Pupils may need tuition for a variety of reasons, including:
- Behavioural difficulties (pupils excluded from school and awaiting a new placement)
- Emotional needs including school phobia or anxiety
- Medical needs
- Relocation and awaiting a school placement
- Improvement in grades
- Support with GCSE preparation
Successful applicants will need:
- Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent; ideally withing a core specialism (English, Maths or Primary)
- Experience with primary or secondary aged children
- Experience working with children in a tuition capacity (desirable)
If you are have experience as a tutor or are a Fully/ Newly Qualified Teacher interested in tuition, please click "Apply Now" and I will be in contact to discuss further.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
