English Teaching Assistant

A school in Manchester is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the English department in September 2020:

ROLE: Teaching Assistant

LOCATION: Manchester

PAY: GBP275-GBP350 per week.

Requirements for this position:

• A degree (preferably in English or an essay based subject)
• Aspirations of a long term career within the education sector.
• Experience working with children at secondary school age.

Key aspects of this role:

• Producing informative and engaging learning resources for students to use.
• Offer consistent support to students with SEN/EAL needs.
• Ensuring students are adhering to school policy, and are behaving in a respectful manner.
• Identify pupils who may require additional provision within the subject.
• Provide feedback to pupils, teachers, senior leaders and parents whenever necessary.
• Manage any pastoral issues as and when they arise. 
• Working on a 1:1 basis with students who are struggling to engage with the mainstream process.

It is essential the applicant:

• Can develop positive working relationships with students and staff.
• Is able to inspire students and act as a role model.
• Is able to engage with national curriculum and apply interventions for students when necessary.

The school:

• Is located close to Manchester city centre.
• Has several amenities located close by.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
