English Teacher Maternity Contract

We are currently in search of a dedicated English teacher to join our partner school, a large co-educational secondary school located in Rochdale, OL12. The school boasts an Ofsted rating of 'good' and consistently achieves excellent Attainment 8 scores. At the heart of the school is its students, and they are seeking a dynamic English teacher who can provide them with a top-tier education. They are looking for an individual with boundless energy, capable of imparting their passion for the subject to students. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Head of Department, collaborating on planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons to KS3/4 pupils. Your responsibilities will include setting and assessing homework, as well as monitoring student progress and identifying areas for improvement.

While previous experience teaching up to GCSE level is highly desirable, we enthusiastically welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are embarking on their teaching journey, as we offer an excellent training programme. 

The ideal candidate should:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Possess a strong understanding of the current English curriculum, preferably AQA
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
• Be a team player
