Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Full time English teacher, preferably with QTS, for immediate start in the Newbury area

Teaching Personnel are looking to place a well-qualified, hard working, dynamic, innovative and inspirational Teacher of English. The successful candidate will have high expectations as well as genuine ambition. They will consistently plan and deliver lessons that inspire, engage and challenge every student enabling them to be enthusiastic about their learning and to make excellent progress.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning, resourcing, and delivering imaginative, interactive and inspiring lessons that ensure that effective learning takes place and students make excellent progress
  • Providing a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that helps students to develop as learners
  • Establishing and maintaining positive behaviour
  • Supporting students in the acquisition and development of learning dispositions and positive character traits
  • The ability to develop good relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Being accountable for student progress and attainment levels

    • Relationships across the school are positive and students are polite and courteous
    • Teachers have very good subject knowledge so they plan interesting lessons which results in students learning well
    • Students have made at least good progress in a range of subjects by the time they reach the end of Year 11
    • Leaders and managers, including governors, have an accurate understanding of the school’s strengths and further areas for development. They are effectively ensuring that teaching and achievement continue to improve

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
