English Teacher - Immediate Start - Outstanding Department

The School:

Based in North West London, the school is a short walk from it's nearest tube station on the central line and is well served by many local buses. It has extensive playing facilities, set in large grounds. Whilst the school itself requires improvement the humanities department is flourishing and was highly praised by Ofsted. Excellent relationships have been developed with local sports clubs and the school has a special bond with the RSC.

The Role:

In order to raise standards, the school are seeking ambitious teachers keen to progress up the career ladder. The ideal candidate has experience teaching at KS5 but due the nature of the department, this is not a necessity. The role is open to NQTs/FQTs and OTTs. You will be expected to work 5 days per week and the time table is not overly heavy – 16-18 lessons of contact time per week. The exact make up of the role will be determined by the choice of candidate and their capabilities. The role as come about due the current holder heading back to their native Australia at short notice.

The Department:

Based in the new humanities block (refurbed Easter 2014) the English department has state of the art facilities and access to excellent modern resources. The department is overseen by an engaging and committed HOD. Their take on the curriculum is open to interpretation and teachers have a real say on what they teach.

Requirements:

A UK recognised teaching qualification, i.e. BSc QTS, BA QTS, CERT ED, PGCE, B.Ed

Experience teaching English to KS4

A can do attitude

A proven track record of raising attainment
