Full-time English teacher required to cover a Maternity gap on a 12 month temporary basis from September 2019 on behalf of one of our partner secondary schools, located on the outskirts of Wigan.

  • Full-time English Teacher - Maternity cover for 12 months
  • Teaching KS3 and GCSE English - Students aged 11-16
  • Pay in line with newly introduced MPS/UPS standards - £23,720 - £39,406
  • School open to applications from teachers of all experience levels

The school wish to meet with interested English teacher on their return from the Easter holidays with the view to appointing way ahead of September 2019. If successful, the incoming English teacher will be joining a school that achieves excellent results in English year on year.

"The English Department devise and plan their lessons around two important factors: challenge and a joy of learning. Students within the school build good relationships with their pupils and have a good attitude to learning."

The incoming English teacher will take sole responsibility of the planning and marking responsibilities for their students and will be required to teach a complete timetable consisting of KS3 and GCSE classes. The classes within schools are organised into ability sets so it is important that you are able to stretch the learning of all the pupils and are able to deliver tailored lessons based on their needs.

English is currently a popular amongst the students in school, as the teachers focus on delivering well planned engaging and interactive lessons on a regular basis.

Our client secondary school is smaller than the average secondary school and currently has 800 pupils on roll. The school is based on the outskirts of Wigan and is just minutes away from the A580. There are an abundance of transport links in and out of Wigan and the school can be easily accessed from surrounding areas. Students within the school build good relationships with their pupils and have a good attitude to learning.
