The Assistant Headteacher who is responsible for recruitment at the school is looking to meet with interested English teachers ASAP.

If successful you will be joining an English department that is made up of a team of committed and vibrant teachers who share a similar vision of striving 'outstanding' teaching practice and stretching the learning of their pupils. The Assistant Headteacher at our client Secondary school has highlighted that they would like to appoint an English teacher who can teach engaging lessons and has a real sense of enthusiasm for English and is able to show this within their teaching. It is important that you are able to stretch the learning of your pupils in order to bolster results across the subject. Interested English teachers will be able to evidence excellent results.

You will receive complete support from senior leaders who will hold regular progress reviews with the department and individual teachers to ensure everyone has the tools to succeed.

Our client school located in Wigan is only a few miles from the town centre, making it commutable via public transport and is easily accessible via A577/A49. This is an average sized Secondary School with around 1054 children aged 11-16 on roll, the number who speak English as an additional language is slightly lower than the national average. Results are improving in the core subjects and pupils make good progress.
