The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive English department at a high-achieving girls’ school in Northampton. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for English language and literature.

This role would suit both experienced practitioners and early career teachers who are enthusiastic about bringing fresh ideas and energy to a collaborative teaching team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and departmental schemes of work

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages all students to achieve their potential

• Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support

• Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and student engagement

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4

• A strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
