English Teacher (KS3 & KS4) – Northampton
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Long-term, full-time (until the end of the academic year)

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive English department at a high-achieving girls’ school in Northampton. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for English language and literature.
This role would suit both experienced practitioners and early career teachers who are enthusiastic about bringing fresh ideas and energy to a collaborative teaching team.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and departmental schemes of work

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages all students to achieve their potential

Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support

Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and student engagement
Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
-
A strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
