The governors of a Nelson based school are currently seeking to appoint an English Teacher to a full time position starting in September 2019. Although initially for a 12 month position it is likely that a successful candidate would be considered for a permanent position.
As an oversubscribed Secondary School in the Blackburn area the Governors would like to appoint an English Teacher for the 2019-20 academic year. The English department deliver AQA specifications up to GCSE and so experience with this exam board would be beneficial. With a high proportion of pupils with English as an additional language and the school has specialist provision to support this need, both the MFL and the English department lead across the whole school to ensure EAL learners are able to fully access the curriculum. Although full support is available for this, experience working with EAL learners would be helpful.
Candidates considering this role should:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Hold a Bachelors in an English related subject
- Be able to develop a classroom environment orientated around engagement
- Effectively motivate pupils to drive their own learning
The school is closely linked with a cluster of Teaching schools giving them access to a range of CPD. There is a full induction process for NQT's. Applications from Teachers at all stages of their career are encouraged and would be fully supported in their career progression.
The successful Candidates will benefit from:
- Salary in line with experience
- Extensive school support systems
- A developing school with opportunities for further career progression
- Modern classroom facilities
Interviews are due to take place following the Easter holidays.
