English Teacher – Secondary School – Lyme Regis
Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: April
A dynamic and supportive secondary school in Lyme Regis, Dorset is looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its well‑established English department. The Role
As an English Teacher, you will:
• Deliver engaging, well‑structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Drive strong student progress through creative teaching and an inclusive curriculum
• Use assessment effectively to monitor achievement and tailor planning
• Build a positive classroom environment where all students feel supported
• Contribute to curriculum planning and department-wide improvement
• Get involved in wider school life, clubs, and enrichment activities

Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
• A qualified English Teacher with QTS, or an ECT currently completing training
• Confident teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4

• Reflective, motivated, and committed to self‑development
• Skilled at building rapport and supporting students of all abilities
Requirements
• QTS (or working towards QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in English
• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
