Job description

A secondary school in the centre of Manchester is looking to recruit a teacher of English to join their English department in September. The Head of Faculty said of the open position:

“It is with regret that we are looking for an English specialist teacher to join our team here. This is an open vacancy for a passionate teacher of English to join us in September as a result of a departure of our second in department. The open vacancy comes due to a relocation down south of our existing English teacher and we have the notice to replace them over the course of the next spring term. The successful English teacher should be experienced in teaching KS3, KS4 English in particular the AQA curriculum. There is opportunity to become a permanent member of our team for the right candidate, treating the 1 term post as a trial period.”

As can be seen above, the school are looking for a confident and motivated English teacher to join them. Highlights of this full time position:

  • Full time English teaching position: KS3 and KS4 English
  • AQA syllabus; including literary texts such as Of Mice and Men, An Inspector Calls and Anthology
  • Pay will be dependent upon experience and pay scale

The school are ideally looking for an English teacher who can engage students in their learning. Teaching innovative and creative lessons is key at this school as they look to continue to provide the best learning experience for all students especially in Literacy. English Language and Literature has been praised as being at a high standard in the school and they are looking for an English teacher to join the team and continue to strive in this direction.

The school is located in the central Manchester area making it very easy to access from all surrounding areas of Greater Manchester. Those linguists that live in the city centre will find it highly accessible via public transport and those travelling from further away, have the main M60 ring road a stones throw away.
