Job description

Upcoming for the new academic year 26/26 - long term English teaching role at a Manchester based secondary school:

English Language and Literature specialist starting on Tuesday 1st September for the whole of the academic year (maternity cover).

This reputable, good graded co-educational secondary school situated in the central Manchester area is looking to recruit an English teacher to join their English department fulfilling a maternity cover. This will start through Teaching Personnel with the real possibility of taking on a 1 year fixed term contract at the very least. The appointed English teacher will be teaching English (both Language and Literature) to GCSE level; year 7 – year 11.

The school are accepting applications from teachers of any experience level from newly qualified ECTs to more experienced teachers.

The Head of English said of this position:

“We are looking for an effective classroom practitioner to join us in our English department from Tuesday 1st September to take a long term teaching role. We are looking for an English specialist or someone who has covered this area before with any familiarity of the AQA syllabus. Teachers of any experience level are encouraged to apply with no preference over an experienced teacher or newly qualified, as long as they are effective in their practise”
