Job description

English Teacher – Ashford, Kent

Location: Ashford, Kent
Salary: £31,000 – £51,000 (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September (or earlier by negotiation)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a progressive and supportive secondary school in Ashford. This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT or experienced practitioner who is passionate about English and keen to make a meaningful impact on students’ outcomes.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitably experienced candidates. The successful applicant will join a collaborative English department that values creativity, innovation, and high academic standards.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons

  • Use assessment effectively to support progress and attainment

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and positive relationships with students
