Role - English Teacher 

Location - DY7

Salary - £170.00 - £230.00 per day (depending on experience)

I am currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in the Dudley area that is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire a love of literature and language while helping students achieve their full academic potential. The school is seeking a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and contribute positively to a supportive and ambitious English department.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced applicants.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality English lessons
  • Teaching a broad and balanced English curriculum across a range of abilities
  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations in English Language and Literature
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress effectively
  • Using data to inform teaching and intervention strategies
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations
  • Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Possesses strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Can motivate and engage students of all abilities
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills
  • Is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
