English Intervention Specialist

Are you passionate about helping students succeed in English?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Intervention Support Assistant to join the team at a client secondary school in Trafford starting in September. As an English Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support in English to help them improve their skills and achieve academic success.

This position will run full-time from Thursday 5th September, until July 2025. Successful applicants who get on well in their school placement may be offered a permanent contract with the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students struggling with English.
  • Assist the English department in planning and delivering targeted intervention sessions.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Create engaging and interactive learning resources to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized learning plans for students.

Requirements:

  • A strong command of the English language.
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting student learning.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
