Are you an English graduate aspiring to be a secondary teacher? Do you want to gain classroom based experience prior to starting your teacher training?

If so, our client secondary school in North Manchester is currently seeking an English Graduate to join their faculty on a full time basis. This position will be starting from February half term until the end of the academic year.

  • Full time English Graduate position, starting in February
  • Modern new building with excellent provisions for all students and staff
  • Supportive English department with experience Head of English
  • Get paid up to £65 a day dependant on experience

This is a mixed 11-16 secondary school located in North Manchester, Blackley the school is situated close to the M60 and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas via public transport. The school was previously on separate sites, but merged into a purpose built state of the art site a few years ago, with a focus on teaching and learning in its design to serve the diverse catchment area and allow students to fully access the curriculum.

The responsibilities of the incoming English graduate include:

  • Supporting students in English who have not yet met there target grades
  • Providing 1:1 and small group intervention to assist with closing the gap
  • Covering lessons in the English department in the absence of the teacher
