English and Maths 1:1 Nurture Tutor

Job description

An SEND provision in Sunderland are searching for Tutors to work with students in Key Stage 3 and 4 with additional learning needs. The candidate will be working with students aged between 11-16 who are working at various academic levels. The role will be based in different environments including community centres, foster homes and libraries so the candidate will have access to a vehicle or good transport links. This position will commence as soon as possible and will last for the duration of each pupils individual needs.

The role will involve working with students who may display challenging behaviour during sessions, so the successful candidate will be confident managing this. The ideal candidate will be patient and passionate about educating young people with SEND with a nurturing personality. You do not need to be a qualified teacher for this role however you will be confident delivering English and Maths up to GCSE level and will have a strong educational background as well as experience working with SEND/challenging behaviour/nurture.
