Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – EN2

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a range of welcoming schools across the EN2 area to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants. These roles are well suited to individuals who enjoy supporting young people with additional needs and want to play an active role in helping pupils reach their full potential. Opportunities are available on both a full time and part time basis, with weekly pay at £90–£105 per day, depending on experience .

Schools in EN2 are known for their positive ethos, strong leadership, and focus on inclusion. Staff are encouraged to work collaboratively, and Teaching Assistants are an essential part of the wider support network within each school .

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Support pupils with a variety of needs including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and speech and language needs

  • Provide in-class and out-of-class support on a one-to-one or small group basis

  • Help pupils feel confident, safe, and supported in their learning

  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Encourage engagement, participation, and independence

Main Duties

  • Deliver focused support tailored to individual learning needs

  • Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement support plans

  • Promote positive relationships and social skills

  • Help maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment

  • Monitor and encourage pupil progress

  • Recognise and reward achievements, big or small ⭐

Who We’re Looking For ‍♂️‍♀️

  • A patient, adaptable, and caring approach

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs

  • Previous experience in education, care, youth work, or similar settings is beneficial but not essential

Essential Requirements

  • Legal right to work in the UK

  • Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

  • Two satisfactory references covering the last three years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
